How to Install Wendigo
Follow these simple steps to get Wendigo up and running in your Chrome browser. It only takes a minute!
Download the Extension
Click the download button to save the extension file to your computer. The file will be saved as a .zip file in your Downloads folder.
🧩 Download Chrome ExtensionUnzip the Downloaded File
Find the downloaded .zip file in your Downloads folder. Right-click on it and select Extract All... (Windows) or double-click to unzip (Mac). This will create a new folder with the extension files inside.
Open Chrome Extensions Page
Open Google Chrome and type chrome://extensions in the address bar, then press Enter. This will open Chrome's extension management page.
Enable Developer Mode
Look for a toggle switch in the top-right corner of the page that says Developer mode. Click to turn it ON. This allows you to install extensions that aren't from the Chrome Web Store.
Load the Extension
Click the Load unpacked button that appears in the top-left area. A file browser window will open. Navigate to and select the folder you extracted in Step 2 (the folder containing the extension files, not the .zip file).
You're All Set!
The Wendigo extension is now installed! You'll see its icon appear in your browser's toolbar (usually in the top-right corner). Click on the puzzle piece icon in Chrome to pin Wendigo for easy access.
Helpful Tips
- Keep the folder: Don't delete the extracted extension folder! Chrome needs it to run the extension. If you delete it, the extension will stop working.
- Updating: When a new version is released, download it again and replace the old folder. Then click the refresh icon on the extensions page.
- Pin for easy access: Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, then click the pin icon next to Wendigo to always show it.
